Directions & Parking: The office is conveniently located near the I-15 freeway off-ramps at 106th South and 90th South. It is on the south side of 9400 South in the Southwood Medical Plaza (behind the Mountain America Credit Union). We are located in the building marked 870. Our office is accessed through the “C” doors. Ample free parking is available in the front and rear of the building. If you utilize public transportation, the F94 bus line stops on 9400 South in front of our office. It is accessible from the Historic Sandy TRAX station at 9000 South. The office is also within walking distance of the Sandy Expo TRAX Station.

Dr. Boyle is a relationship and mental health expert with over 11 years of experience counseling couples, families, and individuals on how to change and improve the relationships they have with all the different areas of their lives. Dr. Boyle can help you improve your relationship with the important people and things you interact with on a daily basis. Whether it’s your relationship with your spouse, your children, your siblings, your money, your job, your faith, your sexual relationship, your physical health or your overall mental health, Dr. Boyle can help you find a more fulfilling way to relate to these and other areas of your life. Dr. Boyle has years of experience educating others through classes, presentations and training on various topics including: Marriage/Couple Relationships, Family Relationships, Parenting, Money and Relationships, Divorce, Suicide, Job/Life Stress, Depression, Anxiety, and many more. Dr. Boyle has shared his expertise by providing education/training to the community, to other professionals, and teaching for the Department of Family Studies and Human Services at Kansas State University. Dr. Boyle is the Clinical Director of Swinton & Associates Counseling and is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. He has a Master’s Degree and a PhD in Marriage and Family Therapy. He is a Clinical Fellow and an Approved Supervisor with the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy. When Dr. Boyle is not busy counseling individuals, couples and families on how change and improve their relationships and mental health, he enjoys spending time with and enhancing his own relationships with his wife, children, extended family, and friends.

Benjamin is eager to meet with you as an individual, couple or family. Ben is skilled at assisting with relationship problems, depression, anxiety, and addictions. His personable approach and passion for supporting couples and families has aided many in achievement of their mental, emotional, and relationship goals. Ben has thorough graduate training in mental health struggles and family dynamic problems. Ben has exceptional counseling experience and enthusiasm to help individuals and families heal. Before becoming a Certified Social Worker, he assisted those struggling with intellectual disability, mental illness, and elderly populations. Ben can help you find hope and solutions when you are faced with difficult challenges. Ben enjoys quality time with his wife and Airedale Terrier. He appreciates many other social relationships with family and friends and has a love for music, the arts, film, and spending time outdoors.

Sandra Petersen, MEd, Licensed Associate Marriage and Family Therapist

Sandra Petersen has specialized graduate level training in marriage and family therapy. She has passion to work with younger populations as she also holds a Master degree in Educational Leadership and over 10 years of experience working in the educational field in different capacities. She is also prepared and experienced in helping children and parents with a variety of concerns with effective, and proven parenting interventions, such as Parent-child Interactions Therapy, and Child-Parent Relationship Therapy that includes Filial Therapy proven to be highly effective to heal broken or distance parental relationships in children and adolescences. She received her degrees from an accredited training program where she had the opportunity to research and practice some of the foremost theories of marriage and family therapy. She has been trained in trauma-based interventions helping individuals and families overcoming complex trauma issues as is a current approved provider to DCFS and assisting foster parent’s transitions, and cases of permanent adoption. She enjoys play therapy and specializes in treating complex trauma problems such as severe physical, sexual, emotional abuse and negligence, attachment, and abandonment issues in younger populations. She has a passion for working with all kinds of couples. Sandra is a member of the American Association of Marriage and Family Therapy and the Utah Play Therapy Association, and is skilled in the latest research and approaches in the field so she is equipped to help her client with the most effective therapy tools available. She is Bilingual, native Spanish-speaking, culturally sensitive, and able to connect and provide services to our Spanish–speaking community.

    Dr. Jonathan Swinton, PhD, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist

    Relationship expert, Dr. Jonathan Swinton, PhD is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. He has a Masters degree and a PhD in marriage and family therapy. He is a Certified Medical Family Therapist, and a Clinical Fellow of the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy. Dr. Swinton is the founder and Executive Director of Swinton & Associates Counseling. He has been published in the Journal of Marital and Family Therapy, and Families, Systems, and Health. He has published dozens of articles on relationships in magazines and online self-help sites, and is often featured as a relationship expert on television and radio stations. PESI Inc., a national continuing education seminar provider, has sent Dr. Swinton across the country to train therapists on the keys to counseling couples. He taught for the Department of Family Studies and Human Services at Kansas State University and was awarded the Human Ecology Alumni Entrepreneur Award from Kansas State University. He serves on the Kansas State University Human Ecology Alumni Advisory Board and the Waterford School Alumni Council. He is a husband and father, and enjoys helping individuals, couples, and families with their relationships.
